I like these ok but I do have some reservations. They have thier good and bad points.First the good. They are squishy and pack up much easier than a metal cup. you can roll them into a ball and stuff them into a pocket on the 'ruck or down into the cookset. Sweet. Also, hot liquids, This stuff is silicone, I can fix hot coffee, tea, soup, chocolate, it doesn't matter, I fix it in my cook set, pour it into the squishy bowl, and I can handle it instantly since the silicone does not transfer the heat to my hand to any signicant degree. Nice.Lastly, they give me added bowl/mug capability on the trail for almost no weight/space cost. I was using my cookset as my bowl/mug. If I boiled water for coffee I then had to wait, until I finished my cup-a-joe, to again boil water to rehydrate a "PackitGourmet" meal. Now I can fix coffee, transfer it to a squishy cup, even boil some water to wash with, and then put on some water to rehydrate my meal while I am doing relaxing with my "lifers' juice."Now for the bad.I must be careful about how I pick them up! REALLY careful, they are SQUISHY! If it is full of boiling water and I am not careful, the thing will collapse and spill the liquid all over my hand. NOT sweet. They are a bit difficult to clean. Everything sticks to the silicone. Just saying.Lastly, while they do squish up I have seen some other designs which simple accordion down flat. I suspect those are better. The rigid ring around the top will negate the problem of the cup/bowl collapsing as I have described and they can still be carried just as easily. The only trade off is the price, these are cheaper.
